Practice Areas
Our Firm offers experienced legal representation in matters involving Administrative Law and Appeals, Civil Litigation and Appeals, Environmental Law and Energy, Local and Regional Governmental Entities and Subdivisions, Real Estate, Legislative and Governmental Affairs, and Deceptive Trade Practices. In the practice of Aministrative Law and Appeals, we have extensive experience in the Texas political arena, in the state administrative agencies and courts at state and federal levels, and in representing individuals and the business community at large impacted by their decisions. Our Firm is serving the needs of a growing client base throughout Texas as well as individuals and companies with significant interests outside the state but doing business in Texas. In addition, we are frequently brought in by other lawyers and law firms with clients needing our services and expertise in this Administrative Law practice area, based here in Austin, the State's Capital.
We also represent individuals, businesses and organizations in a variety of issues where Litigation in Civil District and Appellate Courts has become necessary. Our Environmental Law and Energy practice assists clients with formulating and litigating public policy, licensing and permitting, water and property rights and disputes, solid waste enforcement actions and related issues, and rate and pricing cases. We also have extensive experience protecting Texans from gas and electric rate overcharges for major public entities, including Texas A&M University and the UT System. In the area of Local and Regional Governmental Entities and Subdivisions, we assist clients needing help with local governments, districts or cities, including land use, zoning and real estate issues. We also represent governmental entities as general counsel or outside counsel. We have also been highly successful in defending against a City's powers of annexation in our representation of an affluent neighboring area opposing annexation from the City of Austin.
We are actively involved in Legislative and Governmental Affairs. The Firm's Founder has served as advisor to statewide officials, state agency staff, management of non-governmental organizations and as Chair of the 400-member Administrative Law section of the Austin Bar Association.
Additionally, we have experience defending against the Attorney General's claims against small businesses and corporations in the area of Deceptive Trade.
